Observation on #DOING BUSINESS, 2015 in #TANZANIA by GICC's CEO




The Doing Business 2015 ranks Tanzania ahead of Kenya & Uganda

The Doing Business 2015  portrays Tanzania’s Ease of Doing Business rank (out of 189 economies) as  131 (2014 being 130) while the distance to frontier (DTF)** measure, overall and by topic shows Tanzania to be 56.38 (2014 was  55.82) .
Starting a Business is shown as 124th rank (having dropped by 6 positions), Dealing with Construction Permits to 169th rank, Getting Electricity to 87th (rank having dropped by 2 positions).

In Registering Property, Getting Credit and Protecting Minority Investors, Paying Taxes once again Tanzania’s rank has been shown dropping.
The only area that has been shown positively is Trading Across Borders – the rank having risen from 137th from 139th while there has been no change in Enforcing Contracts rank having stayed at 45th position.

However Comparatively Tanzania has performed much better as Kenya stands at 136th rank , Uganda stands 150th rank  & Malawi stands at 164th rank

Ms. Shainul Bhanji, the Promoter & CEO of Global Investors Consultation Centre (GICC/EA) observing  the report noted that our Tanzania’s leadership has been making tremendous efforts to boost its FDI. The country’s President, The Prime Minister’s office, TIC, EPZA, TNBC  & various government stakeholders need to be applauded.

GICC's CEO Ms. Shainul Bhanji seated with the High Commissioner of India His Excellency Mr. Shaw while the FGI's Secretary General Mr. Nilesh Patel addresses the audience. Others on the high table are TCCIA's Chairman Mr. Lukwaro and FGI's President Mr. Patel
